Lauren isn't a classroom instructor who learned wallpaper installation from a textbook. She's a working professional who installs luxury wallcoverings in the South's most beautiful homes every single week.
As the founder of Perla Paperhanging and Perla Fine Wallcoverings, Lauren has built a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship and an eye for perfection that her clients trust with their most important spaces.
Now she's opening her school and sharing the techniques, problem-solving skills, and professional knowledge that took years to develop. In four days, you'll learn what most installers take years to figure out on their own.
How It Started
From parlor ceilings to professional craft.
When Lauren married Steele Wilkinson Buckholtz and moved to Poplar Grove Plantation, the parlor ceilings stopped her in her tracks — adorned with the most beautiful Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper.
Living with those ceilings, day after day, she became obsessed with the craft behind them — the precision, the pattern logic, the artistry of putting paper to wall. That obsession became Perla.
Lauren trained as a professional paperhanger, apprenticing under a master installer, and built a working practice hanging luxury designer wallpaper for some of the South's most distinguished homes. She founded Perla Paperhanging, then opened Perla Fine Wallcoverings — a showroom on the Poplar Grove grounds — to source the materials her clients deserved.
Now she's opening the school.
